Is your computer running slow or crashing? It could be a sign of a damaged CPU from overheating. In this video, we will show you how to tell if a CPU is damaged from overheating, and what steps you can take to fix the issue. So, let's get started and diagnose the problem before it's too late.
1. Open your web browser.
2. Type alcpu.com/CoreTemp/ and press the Enter key on your keyboard.
3. Under the Core Templ 1.18, click on the Download link.
4. Select the location to save the CoreTemp application file, and click on the Save button.
5. This will start downloading the CoreTemp exe file.
6. Once the download is completed, close the browser.
7. Open File Explorer and then open the folder location of the saved CoreTemp exe file.
8. Double-click on the CoreTemp exe file to start installing this application.
9. Click on the Yes button from the User Account Control confirmation box.
10. Click on the Next button in the Setup window.
11. Read the License Agreement, and make sure that the radio button of I accept the agreement is selected, then click on the Next button.
12. Click on the Next button again twice, and then click on the Install button.
13. Once the installation is completed, click on the Next button.
14. You can uncheck the box of View Readme.txt, and then click on the Finish button.
15. This will launch the Core Temp application.
16. You can see the CPU temperature readings in the below section.
17. OR, click on the Tools menu at the top.
18. Click on the System information from the drop-down list.
19. Scroll down and you will find the information about your CPU temperature.
20. You can also monitor the other factors like; If the CPU Fan is giving high noise or no fan noise then it is an indication of overheating the CPU.
21. If the system crashes frequently then your CPU may be overheating. Although, system crashes are usually caused by software issues but you have to monitor all the facts closely.
