If you are worrying that someone may try to hack your computer’s password in your absence. Then, there is a solution in Windows to monitor it. You can set a log file in Windows and later you can check it if someone tries to log in on your computer in your absence. Let’s see the steps to view Login Attempts on Windows.
1. Type event viewer in the windows search bar at the bottom left.
2. Click on the Event Viewer app from the search result to open it.
3. Click on Custom Views from the left panel.
4. Click on the Create Custom View from the right-side panel.
5. Click on the Event Logs drop-down.
6. Click on the plus icon of Windows Logs to expand it.
7. Select the check box of Setup, and click outside of the list.
8. You will notice that a text All Event IDs appears in the text box.
9. Click on the text box, and type the IDs as followings
1. Type 4624 for successful login, type 4625 for login failure, and type 4634 for Log off. Please use commas to seperate the ID range.
10. Click on the OK button.
11. Type the name of your Log file, and write a description for your reference.
12. Click on the OK button, and close the Event Viewer window.
13. Restart your computer.
14. Open the Event Viewer again to review the Log file.
15. Expand the Custom Views, and click on the Log file that you have created.
16. You will find all the details about login attempts in the number of events box.
