How to know if you are using a proxy server

If you use a proxy server then it provides you more security for your computer. While working on a network, a proxy server can play the best role to protect your privacy. Let’s see the steps to know if you are using a proxy server.

1. Click on the Windows Start at the bottom left.
2. Click on the Settings gear icon.
3. Click on the Network & Internet option.
4. Click on the Proxy from the left side panel.
5. Scroll down to the Manual proxy setup section on the right side of the Settings window.
6. If the toggle button of Use a proxy server is Off then it means you are not using any proxy server.
7. If the toggle button of Use a proxy server is ON then the computer is using a proxy server.
8. Close this Settings window.
9. In the Mozilla Firefox browser, you can also check if you are using a proxy server.
10. Open the Firefox browser.
11. At the top-right of the browser window, click on the three horizontal lines hamburger menu.
12. From the drop-down menu list, click on Settings.
13. Make sure that the General tab is selected.
14. Scroll down to the Network Settings section at the bottom of the right side.
15. Click on the Settings button.
16. Just check the selected options of Configure Proxy Access to the Internet in the Connection Settings window.
17. If the radio button of “Use system proxy settings” is selected then it uses the system settings.
18. If the radio button of “No proxy” is selected, then it means your system is not using any proxy server.
19. The radio button of “Auto-detect proxy settings for this network” uses the proxy server from your network.
20. Select the radio button of “Manual proxy configuration” to use the manual settings of a proxy server.
21. Close the open browser window.
