Last night President Obama gave his first State of the Union address of his second term. He addressed universal preschool, tax reform, immigration reform, a minimum wage increase up to $9 per hour, a cap-and-trade program for carbon emissions, infrastructure investments, new housing incentives, manufacturing incentives, energy plans, a program for scoring college education by affordability, and paycheck equity. Republicans responded with Senator Marco Rubio, saying the president's solution is -- quote "to virtually every problem we face is for Washington to tax more, borrow more and spend more."
The partisan divide was alive and well last night.
