Bimbo Could Buy Hostess' Wonder Bread
The rumor mill is open for the fate of Hostess' Wonder Bread brand. The Wall Street Journal reporting Groupo Bimbo, the world's largest breadmaker, may be close to acquiring part of the Hostess business. The deal could amount to $350 million and could be announced as early as this week according to the Wall Street Journal.
Bimbo has be interested in Hostess before and with its purchase of Sara Lee's bakery operations last year, it could be looking to expand more in the U.S.
As for the fate of the Twinkie, there are many other brands who have shown interest including Kraft Foods, Kellogg, Kroger, and even Wal-Mart.
