comScore Says One in 10 Mobile Subscribers Now Using iPhone

comScore released data from the comScore MobiLens service, reporting trends in the U.S. mobile phone industry during the three month average period ending October 2011.

The study found Samsung to be the top handset manufacturer overall with 25.5% market share. Google Android (NASDAQ:GOOG) continued to gain ground in the smartphone market reaching 46.3% market share, comScore said. Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) share of mobile subscribers rose to 10.8% from 9.5% for the three months ended in October, while Research in Motion's (RIMM) share dropped to 6.6% from 7.6%.

Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has potential upside of 30.2% based on a current price of $390.63 and an average consensus analyst price target of $508.73.
