As an example, if something measures 178 centimeters, how many feet is it?
Using the formula, we have the number of feet equals, 178 divided by 30.48, which calculates to 5.8399 feet rounded off.
And if we want to convert the decimal portion of the feet to inches, we multiply it by 12, as there are 12 inches to 1 foot. So, .8399 times 12, which equals 10.08 inches rounded off. And we have 5 feet and 10.08 inches rounded off as the answer.
