In this section, we will explore how to count words in Excel cells. The first step is to add a column for the word count. To do this, on the column header, click the "Insert Column" button and select "Insert Below." Then give the new column a title like "Word Count." Next, we need to identify what words are in each cell in order to calculate the word count for each cell. There are a couple of ways to do this - you can use Excel's built-in search function or you can use Windows' built-in find and replace function.

Searching is easy enough - just click on the cell that contains the word and start typing. You'll see all instances of that word highlighted as you type it into your search bar.

There are two ways to count words in Excel cells. The first way is to use the Count function. The second way is to use the Text To Columns function.

The Count function counts the number of characters, including spaces, in a cell and returns a numeric value. The Text To Columns function counts the number of characters, including spaces, in a cell and returns a text value.
