How to Insert Dynamic Checkboxes in Microsoft Excel

Checkboxes in Microsoft Excel is a great tool to use to either control and filter reports or charts, it can also be used as a formatting tool to highlight and emphasize records in your datasets. In this video, tutorial, I will show you how to use checkboxes to create a dynamic sales funnel but this same technique can be replicated and used in creating staff time attendance sheets.

Checkboxes have now been made available as an inbuilt tool which you can access by going over to the insert ribbon tab and under cell controls, you will the new checkbox feature. Since the new checkbox feature has been made in a way that when a checkmark is clicked, it will print a value of TRUE and when it is not checked, it will print a value of FALSE and everything lives with the cell meaning, today’s checkboxes can be copied and pasted to other cells inside Microsoft excel and will automatically link to the cells where they are pasted.

This is a different new behaviour when compared to the traditional method of inserting checkboxes using the Developer’s tab form controls which required to manually link each inserted checkbox with a specific cell address.
