Fireworks in Japanese is literally spelt with the kanjis “flower” and “fire” hence the mentions of flowers in the sky in the lyrics. Propeller also spells it with 華 instead of 花 -- which is just a more uncommon kanji for flower.

Summer is definitely already over, but listen… Summer isn’t over until the miku sings about it ending (I just like the song a lot)

Also, next month is Halloween, and you know what that means… Halloween.

Flowers dance, in the final night sky of summer
I remember it, on the walk home alone

I had arrived just a little bit early;
We had planned to meet at the fountain by the station
Now, little commonplace things like that have disappeared from my life

I wonder if you've got used to living over there by now,
Who could have guessed I'd be the one to end up such a mess

Flowers dance, in the sultriness of the night sky
It pierces my heart; the smile from that day
The wind blows, and Japan's summer comes to a close
I felt as though it already seemed a little chilly.

The people milling back and forth, and I, at a standstill
I gazed at you, who stood by my side
Fated to never do this again

The sparks
drown out the giant crowds and loud noises
As they leap in the sky

The flowers dance, informing us the summer has come to an end
And I dream, standing still, all alone

Flowers dance, with the brightness of the night sky;
My eyes start to prick, and I blame it on the smoke
The wind blows, and I feel as though the drops tracing down my cheeks
Have gotten just a little colder.
