Here is some footage of a system we build to singulate, orient and blow-feed VERY VERY SMALL (1mm diameter) loose electrical contacts.

Normally, we design and build complete systems to automate complex delicate and repetitive tasks in manufacturing. However, in this case we were contracted to build the feeder portion of a contact insertion machine to present individual parts in the proper orientation on-demand to a pick-and-place robot, as that portion of the machine had been build by a “low bid overseas” company and that portion of the system did not function reliably and the customer's production line had been brought to a standstill.

Many automation companies do not work with parts of this scale, and there are often issues with the systems they build. We however have extensive experience automating the handling of tiny parts and the systems we build are cycle tested many hundred of times at various stages of the design and manufacturing process to insure that our machines are robust and reliable. This video describes the machine we built to solve this problem and shows it running.

All CDSS products are proudly made in the U.S.A.: Critical parts and mechanisms are machined at our facility in Portland OR, where we also do all design, assembly, testing, and support. Our in-house machine shop enables fast turnaround on repairs and service for our customer's vital production equipment. CDSS offers remote support for setup, maintenance and troubleshooting for all the machines we build at no additional cost.
