Transcript/notes
Let’s say that you want to change the row height for certain rows in an excel spreadsheet, and we will use this one as an example.

There are 2 main ways to do this. The first way is to click and drag. For instance, if we want to increase the row height to include all of the text in all of the cells, we go up to the dividing line between row 1 and row 2, and you see the cursor change to a line with 2 outgoing arrows, we simply click and drag down to increase the height in row 1. And we can do the same to decrease the height.

Now for the 2nd way. To use this method, make sure you are on the home tab at the top of the spreadsheet. Next, you left click on the row you want to change the height of, then, you go over to the format icon above the cells section at the top of the spreadsheet and left click on it. A drop down box will appear, and we want to go down to row height, and left click on it. Now, a pop up box will appear, where you can type in the height that you want the row to be.

I am going to type in 29, then hit the enter key, and the row height has increased.

Two notes about using this formatting process for cell height. First, you can highlight all of the rows you want to change the height of by left clicking on the first row you want to change, and drag down to the last row you want changed, as you see here, then go to format, and go down and click on auto fit and excel will automatically change the height of the cells highlighted.

Second, you can highlight all of the columns you want to change the height of, as you see here, then go to format, and go down and click on row height, and type in the height you want, and excel will change the height of all of the highlighted rows to the height you want, this is if you want the same height for each of the rows.
