In this video we discuss excel multiplication, or how to multiply numbers or values in an excel spreadsheet. We go through a few examples, multiplying 2 numbers and more than 2 numbers in excel
Transcript/notes
In excel, the multiplication sign or symbol is this asterisk or star, which is shift 8 on the keyboard.
Here is a blank excel spreadsheet, and let’s say that we want to multiply the numbers 8 times 3 and put the answer in cell B3.
We start by left clicking on cell B3, so it is highlighted, then we type in the equals sign, next we type in the first value or number we are multiplying, in this case 8, then we type in the multiplication sign, shift 8 on the keyboard, and then the other value or number we are multiplying, 3. Next we finish by hitting the enter key and we get an answer of 24.
And we can do this for more than 2 values or numbers as you see here is the multiplication of 3 numbers, with the result and here is an example of the multiplication of several numbers.
