Turkey: The government said it has opened an investigation into the death of a Turkish-American activist believed to have been shot by Israeli troops during a protest in the occupied West Bank. The body of the woman, Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, 26, will arrive in Turkey on Friday.
Vietnam / Thailand: Millions of people across Southeast Asia struggled Thursday with flooded homes, power cuts and wrecked infrastructure after Typhoon Yagi swept through the region. In Vietnam, fatalities rose to 199, while another nine were confirmed dead in northern Thailand.
