Remnants of what was Hurricane Francine moved farther inland Friday, after striking Louisiana a day earlier as a category 2 storm and knocking out power to hundreds of thousands of people. The storm also caused widespread flooding.

Machinists at Boeing have voted to strike, another setback for the giant aircraft maker whose reputation and finances have been battered and now faces a shutdown in the production of its best-selling airliners.

A pro-Israel rally in a Boston suburb turned violent Thursday night when a passerby was shot during a scuffle after confronting demonstrators, authorities said. The shooting victim was being treated at a hospital for life-threatening injuries, officials said.

Former president Donald Trump visited Arizona to solidify his support in a crucial battleground state. At a rally, he said there will be "no third debate" with Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

Vice President Kamala Harris campaigned in North Carolina Thursday, saying she believes there should be another debate with Republican candidate Donald Trump.
