Vietnam: Authorities say flash flooding that swept away an entire hamlet has left an estimated 30 people dead. The incident comes as deaths nationwide from a typhoon and its aftermath climbed to 155 on Wednesday.

Australia: Anti-war protesters clashed with police Wednesday outside a military arms convention in Melbourne. Reports say the activists were protesting the three-day expo which showcases weapons and technology from around the world. Police said protesters hurled rocks, bottles and horse manure during the confrontation.

West Bank: Israel’s military Wednesday continued its latest raid of Tulkarem refugee camp in the northern West Bank, digging up roads and patrolling the area. Two Palestinians have since been killed by Israeli fire, according to the Palestinian health ministry.
Violence has flared across the West Bank since the Israel-Hamas war erupted in Gaza in October.

Mexico: Mexico's Senate approved early Wednesday a sweeping reform measure that will overhaul the country's judiciary by electing judges by popular vote. Critics say they fear the transformation could threaten the rule of law and damage the economy. The reform will take effect once published in Mexico's official gazette.

Singapore: Pope Francis arrived at Changi Airport in Singapore, one of the world’s richest countries, after he visited one of the poorest after a record-setting final Mass in East Timor. The pope is on an 11-day tour of East Asia and the South Pacific.
