U.S.: President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer are meeting Friday in Washington amid an intensified push by Ukraine to loosen restrictions on using weapons provided by the U.S. and Britain to strike targets deep inside Russia. Russia's president, Vladimir Putin, has warned that Ukraine's use of long-range weapons would put NATO at war with Moscow.

Russia: Six British diplomats in Moscow were expelled Friday after Russia accused them of spying and sabotage. Britain described the accusations as "completely baseless.” The UK expelled the Russian defense attaché in May.

Turkey: The body of an American-Turkish activist who was killed by Israeli troops in the West Bank was brought to Istanbul on Friday, ahead of her burial in western Turkey.
Israel has taken responsibility for the death of Aysenur Ezgi Eygi and said that her death was unintentional.

U.S.: Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Thursday ruled out another presidential debate against Kamala Harris. More than 67 million people watched the Trump-Harris debate on Tuesday.

Myanmar: At least 19 people were killed after heavy rains triggered floods in and around the capital city of Naypyidaw. Parts of northern Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Myanmar have been battling floods and landslides in the wake of Typhoon Yagi, with the death toll standing at 280 or more.
