In my new vlog, I am creating a new still life inspired by a famous painting from the Golden Age. I had seen this painting earlier at the Mauritshuis. To capture the photo, I also had to create the vase for the image.
In my home photo studio, specially dedicated to creating still lifes, I made this
I also paid a visit to the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam to see the new Frans Hals exhibition. A real must-see and a unique experience. Of course, I also stopped by my favorite paintings by Rembrandt and Vermeer, such as the Night Watch and the Milkmaid, and I met the Standard Bearer for the first time.
This exhibition is truly recommended; however, you should book tickets in advance.

A Weeping Tulip in a Vase
In this poignant artwork, the timeless elegance of a single tulip in a vase is reimagined with a striking twist. Nestled within the delicate petals of the tulip lies a bleeding heart, symbolizing the artist's deep concern regarding the emergence of artificial intelligence within the realm of art. Expressing this concern does not imply resistance to change, but rather a sincere desire to maintain balance between technological advancement and the human essence of creativity. This artwork invites viewers to reflect on the complexity of our relationship with technology and the necessity to remain vigilant in an era of constant change.
I have once again been fully inspired by an old master and his beautifully small still life, which holds great significance for me. Of course, I also wanted to bring it a bit into the current world, and although the past was not always perfect, I think the artist would be shocked by our art world today. As reality and artificial elements mix more, they cause confusion more easily..., I feel my art-loving heart crying. In essence, I am taking a leap into the present, where the art of long ago still remains unique. What truly remains steadfast in today's world?
