Power BI DAX ALLEXCEPT function removes all context filters in the table except filters that are applied to the specified columns. In the video Power BI desktop example file we use it to calculate the average BPM at grand total level via filtering the column measured personal name. for Mike Wang and Mike YU we see the different corresponding grand level average BPM.
Power BI DAX ALLSELECTED function removes context filters from columns and rows inside the current query, but keeping filters that come from outside. In the video example file we use it to calculate the average BPM at visual total level. For Mike Yu when we change the slicerY for Date interval we see value changes of the measure.
We have applied the measures calculated by the two functions in line charts and Cards.
