In excel, Generate sample datasets with mixed text and numbers can be simply done via an easy excel formula, for example, let’s make a product code list for four type of products, TV, PHONE,FAN and LAPTOP, each product end with it’s own model identifier that will be combined with a first character underscore made by the ASCII code 95, the second and third characters are the lower case letters generated by ASCII codes in between 97 and 122, then last end with three digital numbers produced by the random number between 100 and 999. If We want only 20 rows of such product codes in the testing dataset, just copy and drag it to the row 21 , paste full copied content. To assign a unit amount to each of them by dynamic array function RANDARRAY with 20 row, 1 column, minimum number is 10 , largest number is 600, interval is 1. Now the dataset with 2 columns 20 rows are ready. If you want fix the dataset, just copy whole sheet and paste it with value only again.
