In this video I will talk about why I think that learning a backend language and the concepts of server side development are really important when learning to code.
During my bootcamp, after learning HTML, CSS & Javascript, we went on to learn Node.js and Express to understand the concepts and basics of server side logic and languages. We also went onto to learn Sql and MySql databases.
This really has helped me in my career up to this point, because It taught me how to work with JSON data, how data is stored, how to collect and send data from the front end and ultimately get a fuller knowledge of web development and programming concepts in general.
So I implore you, if you are just starting out on your journey as a web developer or a developer in general, please put some time aside to learning the basics. Maybe look up a tutorial about how to run a basic Node.js http server or how to write a simple SQL request to query a database. This knowledge will come in extremely useful once you enter the industry.
