So this is an update video for where I've been for the last year and why I didn't make a video in that whole time. I did some traveling, moved countries, got some new jobs and generally changed some things.
So I’m now living in London, back at home with my parents. Real millennial of me, but it has allowed me to reset a bit and start to look towards the future again. So what does that mean for this channel?
I started another youtube channel in 2007, called Cliche Productions UK, and this has hosted many different things over the years, but in its current form, it has loads of content about web development and becoming a web developer. I made this content when I was getting into that industry and the videos I made there really seemed to help a lot of people.
But last video that I uploaded was in July 2018, I think I just ran out of steam with making videos about development. I was burnt out in my career and burnt out with trying to stay positive about development. So I just stopped making videos.
Now that I’ve been able to slow down a bit, I want to be able to start making videos again without the burden of calling myself a junior developer. I feel that I have more to offer now as my experience both professionally and personally has grown.
I’m also going to be starting a new channel to that I’m going to be uploading to as well as I’d like to make some different content that isn’t in the development niche. A creative outlet of sorts. I’ve got an Instagram where I share my photography, but I would also like to use this new channel as an outlet for filmmaking, storytelling, documentaries and generally all sorts of things that interest me.
But I’m still a developer, working at a startup in London, so I’ll be making more content about being a developer and posting it there as I still feel very lucky to be in the position I’m in an I know I have so much info to share and give away to help people.
