Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today I'll be showing you how to replace the replacement ramp knob for your Yakima OnRamp bike rack. The Yakima OnRamp is unique in how it has the ramp stored on the bike rack. But sometimes wear and tear happens, or you forget to put the ramp back on and to secure it. So, a common replacement part is going to be the ramp knob, mainly because people forget to tighten it down, so then they lose it on the road. So if that's the case for you, this is gonna be the part for you.

It includes the knob and the bolt to secure the ramp. This is where the ramp is usually stored. When you take the ramp off, you'll see this bolt. So this is what you need to remove first. I use a five millimeter Alan Key, or hex wrench.

And I go in from the back of the rack to access that head. You are gonna have to put a little bit of pressure to loosen it the first time. But after that rotate, then it unhooks, so it comes all the way out. Once that's removed, you can then just double check and see if the threads were stripped or not. Go ahead, get your new bolt, and then you put them back in.

You can also do this process with the bike rack in the down position. It may be easier for you to access it this way or with it in the upright, whichever works. With that bolt secured, you can then get your ramp, get the knob, secure the ramp with the knob, and make sure you don't lose it this time. But that's it. You're able to replace your knob, as well as your bolt that secures your ramp.

So I'm gonna forgetful person. And whenever I take out a bike rack that has a ramp, I always have to extra remember to bring the ramp with me. So it happens. And it's nice to know that if you do need the replacement part, whether it's the ramp, the ramp knob, some wheel straps, you can find them all here at e trailer. But this was a look at your replacement ramp knob and bolt for your Yakima OnRamp bike rack.
