Power BI Animation: Singapore's population change from 1960 to 2020
This video describes the change of Singapore population (Total size, Gender and Age groups) in last 60 years since 1960 to 2020 by Power BI Animation features. The source data was consolidated from World Bank Open Data. The dataset name is "World Development Indicators". Power BI "Play Axis" and "Animated Bar Race Chart" visualizations were applied to animate the changes.
From the video we may find that Singapore population size has increased from 1.6 M in 1960 to the 5.7M in 2020. in 2020 the size of age group 65 and above is taking 13.4% of total population and overtakes the age group 0-14. also the age group 45-64 is taking 32.2% of total size and rank top 1 among total 6 age groups. the size of age group 65-79 has increased from less than 2% in 1960 to 11% in 2020.
