In this video I talk about my personal setup for web development that I use in my office on my personal laptop.
Time Links:
Computer - 0:40
2nd Screen - 2:12
Online Tools - 3:20
iTunes - 3:57
External Hard Drive - 4:20
Trello/Pen & Paper - 6:30
This is the setup I use for personal projects and for learning new skills while I am not at work. Also whenever I need to travel, I have a clean and concise setup for working on the train, on a plane, in a coffee shop or in my home office.
My main computer that I use in my personal developer setup is a 15” Macbook Pro from 2015. The code editor that I use at home is Sublime Text. At work I use Webstorm, but I don’t need as many features at home.
I use Github for version control and hosting small projects to share with other people. I use Chrome as my browser and use the Chrome Dev tools for debugging and testing.
To answer questions and find information and tutorials, I use Google and Stackoverflow.
I also have iTunes to listen to music.
In terms of hardware, I also have a second monitor in my personal developer setup. A second screen allows you to have more windows open at one time and allows you to work even faster.
Thanks for watching my video about my personal developer setup.
