In the After Effects Timeline panel is a button with a graph for an icon. This is the Graph Editor and clicking on it replaces the keyframe region with a graph region. Clicking on a layer will graphically show keyframed properties. However, no graph will be shown by default when clicking on layers with properties that are defined mathematically using Expressions. To view such graphs simply click on the "Show Post-Expression Graph" button represented by a graph icon within the layer.
