Flutter is Google's open-source framework for building beautiful, natively-compiled multi-platform applications using a single codebase (Dart). As of December 2021, over 375,000 Dart/Flutter apps exist on the Google Play Store, and over 20,000 packages have been published to pub.dev to increase the functionality of Dart/Flutter solutions. FHIR-FLI (FHIR with Flutter Library Integration, pronounced "firefly") is a suite of seven packages available at pub.dev that focus on the various aspects of FHIR integration. Examples include SMART on FHIR launch, RESTful API calls, secure local storage, and serialization/deserialization of the FHIR library of versions R4, STU3, DSTU2, and R5 (draft).

In this session, you hear from the person who created and actively maintains these FHIR-FLI packages. Dr. Faulkenberry provides an introduction to Flutter, an introduction to FHIR-FLI, and provide basic examples on how to get started with these packages in your own Flutter app. .
