App developers can build innovative healthcare solutions using either the Hl7.Fhir library, which is based on FHIR REST APIs and provided in open source by fire.ly, or FHIR REST APIs directly, or both. While working on an integration project where data is mapped between FHIR resources and a relational database, I tried both approaches and discovered some pros and cons with each approach. During this session I walk through code examples to demonstrate and share best practices with the two approaches while addressing specific technical challenges. .
