Every time I talked to someone about going to Palawan their first response “are you doing the boat expedition?? you HAVE to do the boat expedition”. Okay okay now I see why.
I’m very serious when I say it’s tied with the Ha Giang loop for my favorite travel tour.
The tour I went on was through @OutpostHostels and full disclosure, I was #gifted it. However, I chose to go with Outpost over my options because I figured by booking with a hostel I had a better chance of being with more solo travelers (that is indeed what happened). I had stayed in the Outpost Hostel in Coron so I met a few people there the day before the expedition and then we all hung out at the Outpost Hostel in El Nido when we arrived there. We were just one big Outpost crew and it was honestly great.
Our boat had 14 tourists and I believe about 12 staff (ok grand total actually 22). AND on day 2 we met up with the other Outpost boat and did the whole day of exploring with them so we had a doubled group!
Yes there is a bathroom on board the boat if you need it.
The cost is 18,000 php or approx $321 USD.
Snorkeling gear is included.
The little huts don’t have AC or fans but you do have a nice ✨bug net✨
You pack a day bag for the 3 days and then your big backpack goes stored in the boat. Your day bag gets put on a kayak and sent to the island while you swim over each night.
