hiiii I'm alive! and I present to you a little project I've been working on for the last few weeks.
I love those kinds of long videos that consist of a loopeable chill videogame track and ambience, accompanied by a super nice animation or artwork of that game: “ambient nature sounds for relaxing, studying, or just a chill day” as described by a channel that I like a lot called Gamescapes (go check her out!).
because of that, one day I thought ‘hey, what if...?’ and this is what it turned out :D
now into a more detailed version of the whole story: late march I finally started college and my first steps into the world of biology, which I was and still am so very eager to explore.
when I started, everything was completely new to me, and I spent most of my time studying. two weeks later I said to myself: “hey you haven’t touched a pencil or a piano since you started” and I remembered what a friend told me just two days before starting: “I used to paint all day but then college began and I completely abandoned it, so you better keep doing it”, which was enough to push me into making art again.
since drawing comes more naturally to me right now, that’s what I started doing. and I began to post things again on instagram (which is in my bio go chec-stop spamming).
then I met a guy who is such a cool human being and inspiration, he asked me if I made digital art, which I replied to with a “no, I would love to but never tried, I don’t have a drawing tablet and don’t want to draw with the mouse lol” and he said that if I could afford it, I should get one. and THAT was a great revelation. I bought one and started experimenting with it. and I loved it.
then one day out of nowhere I uncovered my piano, opened my music software, and began making random things. at the time I was listening to lots of lofi hip hop music when studying (you know, anime lofi girl with the cat on the window) and that definitely inspired the track.
I continued developing with my little bits of “not studying time” and that’s where the idea of making the chill loopeable video came and I started painting this lagoon you see. I didn’t want the video to be static, but since I’m not an animator by any means I tried adding subtle video details that added motion, and I think it achieved at least something, I hope.
and that’s basically it. I’m super excited to explore this concept more and I’m gonna keep making these kinds of videos! one thing to keep in mind is that my free time is not what it used to be, so maybe I don’t post too often as I used to :(
so yeah, if you read this I appreciate you a lot, and hope you enjoy this dumb teen’s ideas. and if you have suggestions like for example “a river view seen from the top of a mountain with flutes and solar drums” please please please tell me, I would love to cover them.
byeee, I hope you do well in life. keep smiling :)
