anomalocaris !! music for cambrian animals
hiiii !! anomalocaris time.
these weird shrimps (literally what their name means: anomalo-caris, weird-shrimp) are believed to be earth's first apex predator, which means that this cute and silly looking dude was for a time the top of the food chain: no animal tried to eat them.
by doing this, in a way, these guys changed the course of evolution because they introduced an evolutionary pressure.
they were BIG in comparison to most animals in that period. and if there's a big dude that's trying to eat your species, then the ones that are more likely to survive will pass on their genes to their offspring, while the ones that are less likely will probably be eaten.

about the music: i discovered that i really like tracks that build up with a repeated motif and reach a climax usually in the end. the trilobite one had something like that but it was introduced later on. this time i was improvising and i played something that i thought was worth exploring and it ended up being that middle and last section. it's actually a simple and short piece, but i like how it turned out and i think it closes up nicely :)
