Just showing you how to use the File Manager to reduce the overall project file size. Deleting unused frozen, consolidated and imported files. Collecting the outside sources into the project. Then finally creating an Ableton Live Pack (.alp).

Ableton's file management systems is wonderful. It will tell you which files are being used and which aren't. That way you know which can be deleted. Usually, for me, those or tracks that were consolidated or frozen and flattened. But, sometimes they are samples I have collected into the project that I later decided didn't belong. The file manager also tells you if and what files are located outside the project itself, which can then be easily gathered and saved.

Once you have done all of these things shown in the video you can have Ableton create an Ableton Live Pack (.alp), which uses a bad a$$ compression method that can further reduce the file size and wrap it all up nicely. This is great for completed work back-ups or if you are going to be sharing the project over the internet.

Let's check it out, shall we?
