In this video tutorial I will show you how to add third party VSTs to Adobe Audition CC 2017!

Effects Rack in Audition CC
I have been using Creative Cloud for a while. Love it. As I am an audio engineer of sorts I tend to stick to Ableton Live. However, today I figured I would get in and check out Audition.

While messing about I went to load a third party VST audio effect into the Effects Rack and I couldn't. The VST and VST3 menu items were there, but nothing was inside them.

I have a ton of third party VSTs so I needed to get them recognized in Audition. I figured I would document the process in case someone else ran into a similar issue.

This works for the first scanning process and you will need to do this process if you have added any new VSTs to any of the VST folders.

Once I get more acquainted with the program I will be doing more tutorials. If you have any questions just shoot me a message on Facebook or comment on the videos on youtube.

In order to get Adobe Audition to recognize third party VSTs you will need to go to the Effects Menu in the top tool bar. Form there select the "Audio Plug-in Manager..."

From the Audio Plug-in Manager you can add any plug-in folder locations that are not the default Steinberg and VSTPlugins folders. Which is where most VSTs are installed by default. However, if you are like me, and have other locations you can add them in the "VST Plug-In Folders" section by clicking "Add...".

Once you have added the new locations, or if you are just looking to scan the default ones, skip to the "Available Plug-Ins:" section. First thing to do is hit the "Scan for Plug-Ins" button and let Audition scan the listed folders.

Audition will automatically Enable any plugs that are compatible with the program. If you get something that says "Not Working" that should be, just hit the "Reload" button and it might get scanned properly. If not, you might be out of luck.

You can also "Disable All" if you want and then Enable just the VSTs you want available.

Click OK when you are done.

Now, if you jump back to the Audio Effects Rack panel you should see the newly scanned and enabled Plug-Ins available in their respective menus.
