mere liye jahaan mein
chain na qaraar hai
dil mein hai be-qaraariyaan
dil mein hai be-qaraariyaan
aankhon mein intezaar hai

dil pe zara si thhes dee
dil pe zara si thhes dee
yaas ka rang bhar diya
dil pe zara si thhes dee
yaas ka rang bhar diya
dheere se muskaraa diye
dheere se muskaraa diye
kehne lage yeh pyaar hai
mere liye jahaan mein
chain na qaraar hai

aankhon mein dil utar gaya
aankhon mein dil utar gaya
duniya ka dard bhar gaya
aankhon mein dil utar gaya
duniya ka dard bhar gaya
thhaame jigar sune koi
thhaame jigar sune koi
gaana nahin pukaar hai
mere liye jahaan mein
chain na qaraar hai
dil mein hai be-qaraariyaan
dil mein hai be-qaraariyaan
aankhon mein intezaar hai

BegumNoor Jehan singing & acting in 'Khandan' (1942), music Master Ghulam Haider, Lyrics by F D Taaseer/D N Madhuk. A rere gem.

Khandaan, family, is a 1942 Bollywood film directed by Shaukat Hussain Rizvi and produced by D.M. Pancholi, starring Pran,Noor Jehan,Ghulam Mohammed Manorama and M. Ajmal.

It was written by author Imtiaz Ali Taj and made in Pancholi's Lahore studio. For the first time in British India, there was a lot of "ahead of film release" publicity for this film. As a result, this became a much-awaited film for the Indian public and became a hit film when released.

Plot :-
This was mainly a Noor Jehan musical about a man seduced by a gold-digging woman, who then kills her and her lover is jailed. When he is released, he finds employment as a gardener and becomes a father-figure to his employer's son Anwar and to Anwar's fiancée Zeenat (Noor Jehan). This allows him to prevent Anwar from perpetuating precisely the same crime for which he had been jailed as history repeats itself because, so the film alleges, men are constantly threatened by women and only paternal wisdom can save them from the untoward desires of women. Future famous film directors Ramesh Saigal and S. K. Ojha assisted in this film. source: Ashish Rajadhyaksha & Paul Willemen Encyclopaedia of Indian Cinema , New Revised Edition 1999.

Khandan (1942),film was produced to lauch Noor Jehan as a Heroine and a singing sensation. The director Shaukat Hussain Rizvi later married Noorjehan before going to Pakistan.
In Pakistan, she was launched by him in a Punjabi film ‘Chenn We’in which Noorjehan also directed the movie,,thus Rizvi made her the First Lady Director of Pakistan.Noor jahan was 16 years old in 1942, Songs were made in 1941 and released in 1942.
In Khandaan,as the story goes, she had two roles. In one role, she is killed and in the other role she is about to be killed, both times by her (different ) husbands.film has two heros Pran and Ghulam Mohammad

Music :-
The music was composed by Ghulam Haider and the lyrics by M. D. Taseer, Nazim Panipati and D. N. Madhok. The playback singers include Noor Jehan, Shamshad Begum, Ghulam Haider and Nasim Akhtar.
