Khandaan, family, is a 1942 Bollywood film directed by Shaukat Hussain Rizvi and produced by D.M. Pancholi, starring Pran,Noor Jehan,Ghulam Mohammed Manorama and M. Ajmal.

It was written by author Imtiaz Ali Taj and made in Pancholi's Lahore studio. For the first time in British India, there was a lot of "ahead of film release" publicity for this film. As a result, this became a much-awaited film for the Indian public and became a hit film when released.
Plot :-
This was mainly a Noor Jehan musical about a man seduced by a gold-digging woman, who then kills her and her lover is jailed. When he is released, he finds employment as a gardener and becomes a father-figure to his employer's son Anwar and to Anwar's fiancée Zeenat (Noor Jehan). This allows him to prevent Anwar from perpetuating precisely the same crime for which he had been jailed as history repeats itself because, so the film alleges, men are constantly threatened by women and only paternal wisdom can save them from the untoward desires of women. Future famous film directors Ramesh Saigal and S. K. Ojha assisted in this film. source: Ashish Rajadhyaksha & Paul Willemen Encyclopaedia of Indian Cinema , New Revised Edition 1999.

Khandan (1942),film was produced to lauch Noor Jehan as a Heroine and a singing sensation. The director Shaukat Hussain Rizvi later married Noorjehan before going to Pakistan.
