There are a multitude of studies showing the amount of errors in the medical record and the dangers that errors can cause. The methods for patients to correct errors is often not automated and even paper based. This tutorial provides an overview of the new draft FHIR Implementation Guide. The Patients Request for Corrections, which provides a FHIR mechanism to request a correction, track the request through to completion, and support any back and forth communication between patient and provider needed to complete the request successfully. .
