This is a guided tour of Motif, a delightfully simple extension for Photos on macOs that helps create beautifully curated photo books, cards, and calendars.
Learn how to create a photo book from scratch starting from importing your images to the Motif platform to the final product.
You can either create your photo book all on your own, or you can use Motif’s auto-flow feature that will do all the difficult work for you. It will analyze your photos for the best quality images, print resolution, facial recognition, duplicate images, and more to help you find the best images. Based on this information, the platform will make a recommendation for your automatically created photo book.
But if you want to take a more hands on approach with your photo book, you can use Motif to help you edit your images, place text, change the theme, and much more.
In this video we:
1. Select A Cover Image
2. Edit Image
3. Adjust Cover Photo
4. Adjust Cover Layout

I like this cover image, but there's one I like better - here it is. All I have to do is drag it from the tray onto the page. In this case, I'll drop it onto the existing image to replace it - there, that's great
Next, I'd like the image to be taller - if I hover at the edge of the images, I get this blue divider line which I can drag to resize both elements on the page
As the image enlarges, the text block shrinks to accommodate it.
I'd also like to zoom the image some, clicking on the image shows the image control palette. The move and zoom tool is selected by default, so I can zoom the image with this slider and simply drag the image around the frame until it's just right
Click anywhere outside the image to deselect the box
