This is an updated version of talks previously given at FHIR DevDays Richmond and Amsterdam as part of the Terminology Track. It opens with an overview of the logical structure of SNOMED CT, discuss the separation of concerns between Terminology and Information Models and then look at some SNOMED CT specific features of FHIR, particularly using ECL with implicit ValueSet expansion, mappings for ICD-11 and historical links from inactive concepts. We also look at a UI demo that illustrates how this can be combined with term filtering to provide a performant and context specific user experience.
