In this video we see how to apply texture to a 3D model in Blender.
To do it we need two things, a MATERIAL and the UV MAP for that material, in the material we define a shader which determines how the object looks, you do that in the Shader Editor window. The UV MAP is a 2D representation of the 3D model in which we place all the faces of the model in a 2D space and then that information is used to display a texture, which is a 2D image, in the 3D object. For UV Mapping you use the UV Editor window and apply actions like Unwrap or Smart UV Project.
