In this episode of Dev Odyssey, I'm reviewing the Beryl AX WiFi 6 VPN router from GL.iNet. I test out its performance, and baseline it against another GL.iNet VPN travel router, the Slate, now discontinued.
I run three test against the Beryl AX:
1. iperf
2. Speedtest
3. SMB / File Sharing
The Beryl AX shows its ability to perform in these areas, as a modern day VPN travel router with WiFi 6, for those that want speed and security on the go. While I mostly cover performance, the newer versions of GL.iNet Admin software enable new features, not often seen in consumer routers, such as:
Split-Tunneling
WAN Failover
Hardware Mode Switch for VPN, Ad Blocking, or Tor networking
