Keep Your Data Secure with the Protect Sheet Feature in Google Sheets
I've always said Google Sheets are the Fort Knox of data representation. And like the real Fort Knox, your Google Sheet data should have protections in place to prevent meddling and garbage data. With just a few simple steps, your sheets will be fully in your control no matter who you share it with and what they might (accidentally) do. Security is our number one priority (at least for this video!).
As a data manager, I had to be in charge of several docs used by several people at my previous company. And not to toot my own horn, but I was far more Google Doc literate than they were. Regardless, the data shared was accessible and editable to everyone involved with the various sheets and boy did that cause problems. I spent frequent nights correcting or reorganizing data on master tabs just because one well meaning person erased or retyped and equation unintentionally. Truly an annoyance. Luckily, when I learned the lock feature of Google Docs, it allowed me to keep both mine and company's data in tact. I highly recommend making any doc you share with people both in and outside your professional scope more secure by using these tips and tricks.
