Parametric modeling in 3Ds Max
Use a combination of the Data Channel and Osl to create this parametric double wave facade.

Follow the steps in this short tutorial:

* create a box with desired size.

* Apply array modifier.

* Check Center option and set count X and Y to 70.
* Scroll to UV rollout and set the mode to Clone XYZ.

* Disable additive option.

* Apply Data Channel modifier and add distort operator to the stack.

* Open material editor and add UVW Transform then change the X and Y tiling to 20.

* Add components vector and plug uvw output to the component intput.

* Add Math Sin and plug X value to sin.

* Copy Sin and plug y value to sin.

* Add math multiply and multiply the 2 sin values.

* Connect multiply value to the distort input and increase strength to 50.

* Now add GeoQuantize operator to the stack ( this will average out the values in each element)

* Add Component Space operator and set to Z (multiplying this to the stack will make sure the bottom part of the box will have a value of 0 which result of moving the top parts only).

* Add Vertex Output operator and set it to Position and Z, change selection method to Add.
