At our animation studio, we’re passionate about turning complex scientific and environmental topics into clear, captivating visuals. In this animation for Nofima, we highlight an innovative solution to a growing issue: how to manage invasive species and by-catch in a sustainable way.
Marine species like jellyfish, starfish, and certain crabs may seem harmless, but they can wreak havoc on ocean ecosystems when they spread beyond their natural habitats. Similarly, by-catch—unintended marine life caught in fishing nets—poses a problem when these species are wasted. Through Nofima’s BlueCC project, however, these challenges become opportunities.
Our animation illustrates how Nofima’s researchers are finding ways to extract valuable substances like chitin, chitosan, and collagen from these untapped resources. By transforming what would otherwise be discarded into new, sustainable products—such as collagen-enhanced food items—Nofima is leading the way in reducing waste and maximizing the value of marine life.
As Nofima’s trusted partner, we’ve worked closely with them to create an animation that not only explains the science behind these discoveries but also resonates with viewers.
