Plumbuita Park is a park located in the Colentina district of Sector 2 of Bucharest, located on the shore of Plumbuita Lake, which is part of the Colentina River's range of lakes. The park is declared a historical monument, with code B-II-aB-18444.
The park was laid out as a recreational area in 1977 and had, at the time of its establishment, an area of 80 ha, being equipped with paved paths, playgrounds for children, a pergola with tables and chairs, and a narrow artificial watercourse, with a few bridges. Currently it also has a football field, with access based on a fee. A modern artesian well was built on the lake by the City Hall of sector 2.
In the park there are two important historical architectural objects of Bucharest:
The Plumbuita Monastery, a 16th-century foundation of Petru the Younger, in whose premises is also the Royal House, built by Matei Basarab in 1647.
Ghika Tei Palace, which borders the southern side of the lake. It is a construction in neoclassical style, built by ruler Grigore Dimitrie Ghica in 1822, on the site of the old parental house of Ban Dumitrache Ghica.
