// How to test your RAM with MemTest86 //

Welcome to a short tutorial for testing your memory with MemTest86. MemTest has been around for ages and is considered the gold standard when it comes to finding out if your RAM is faulty and causes blue screens or not.
Simply go to https://memtest86.com and download the zip file. Extract it to the location of your choice and open the imageUSB.exe and write it the image to a USB drive of your choice.

After the operation has finished, reboot your system and go to your BIOS/UEFI by pressing F2, F8, F9 or Del. If you're in doubt, consult the manual for your mainboard. Once there, change the boot priority to the USB drive and then start the MemTest.
Make sure that all 13 tests are selected. They should be by default. Also make sure that all of your CPU cores are active during TemTest.

MemTest will no do 4 runs (called passes) of the 13 tests. If everything is fine, you will receive a green "PASSED" notification. If you have blue screens despite a negative MemTest, check your CPU (links in the info cards). Cooling might also be an issue, especially if you OCed components.
