First, loosen and remove the capscrews securing the existing flange.
Remove the flange.
Remove and discard the gasket or o-ring from the casing.
Repeat for the second flange.
Next, ensure the sealing glands near the casing ports are clean and free of debris.
Flanges or NPT ports can be installed using o-rings or gaskets, depending on process needs.
Install an o-ring or gasket into the groove on the casing. Use o-ring lubricant for o-rings and gasket sealant for gaskets.
Align the new flange or port type on the casing. Note that not all the threaded holes will be used for every port size or type.
Install each capscrew finger tight. Then fully tighten each bolt moving in a star pattern.
Finally torque each capscrew to the appropriate torque setting. This setting can be found in the technical service manual.
Repeat for the second flange.
Your pump now has a new flange size or port type and is ready to be put back into service. For more information or for other service videos, please visit our website at vikingpump.com.
