Exposing the OpenAI SearchGPT Prototype Download Scam
Do not fall for the OpenAI SearchGPT Prototype download scam making its way around Facebook and Instagram sponsored posts here in August 2024, as it's the exact opposite of legit. Scammers have created various Facebook pages and are promoting sponsored posts where they falsely claim to be OpenAI. Those sponsored posts lead to fake OpenAI SearchGPT Prototype websites such as openai.seachgpt-prototype.com and likely numerous others. These websites all provide the appearance of being the official OpenAI SearchGPT Prototype websites. However, these websites are malicious. They provide a .dmg or .exe downloadable file, such as dhUQUcngcjt.dmg. It's unclear what happens if someone opens the file but I strongly recommend against doing so. This scam could potentially involve phishing or other malicious intent.
I began this video about OpenAI SearchGPT Prototype download scams by talking about something separate I wanted to ask about. Basically, I stumbled upon Facebook sponsored posts for someone who claims to be an expert finance trader of crypto. They posted videos claiming to own exotic cars, an amazing house in a beach city and even a very expensive boat. However, I happened to notice clues showing all of these were rentals. Still, what does that mean? The guy has enough money to rent but not to buy? Does that mean his trading advice is also a scam? Possibly, for sure. But it's not 100 percent and definite. But it's likely.
Anyway, with the OpenAI SearchGPT Prototype download scam, this is very similar to scams that scammers previously executed where they claimed to offer a download file for OpenAI's Sora video product. OpenAI Sora is a product that generates realistic-looking video clips from prompts. The scam worked the same way, in that it began in Facebook sponsored posts that eventually led to scammy websites pretending to be OpenAI Sora. Those fake OpenAI Sora websites then led to dangerous downloads, too.
Basically, don't trust any Facebook sponsored posts claiming to offer downloads for upcoming OpenAI products, like SearchGPT Prototype. Don't run the risk of infecting your device or falling victim to a scam where you lose money. Stay vigilant. Please like, comment and subscribe.
