This video is all about the fact people are looking for Smalap reviews from Consumer Reports about a website named Smalape on smalape.com that claims to both sell tools and furniture. However, in my research, I found no Smalap reviews from Consumer Reports. They never looked into the matter. Rather, I provided my own review in this video. What I found involved a phone number leading to a busy signal, a mailing address (3062 Boardwalk Dr,Saginaw,MI,48603,United States) that seemed suspicious, a domain registrar located in China and photos of furniture from other websites that, in reality, cost a lot more than the Smalap website claims.
Basically, if you want a solid Smalap review and you want me to pretend to be Consumer Reports (after all, I am a reporter for a living on another website) then I'll tell you this: Don't spend your money on smalape.com. Instead, buy on websites you know and trust. I am not saying Smalap is an outright scam. You might actually receive something in the mail. However, it's likely not going to be of the quality you hope for.
I found no reviews for the products on the Smalap website, nor did Consumer Reports look into the website. Some of the large couches claimed to be sold for only $59.99, which makes no sense. If the cost is $60, then the shipping must be $500 or something crazy. Or... it's all a scam. I performed reverse image searches on some of the Smalap couches to do my own review and found that other websites including Walmart, Target and Bed Bath & Beyond all sold the couches for far more expensive prices.
I first noticed people searching for Smalap reviews Consumer Reports a few days before making this video. I decided to create this video to help people learn the truth about these sorts of scams. The website features a Michigan mailing address but also shows a Chinese domain registrar. At the same time, the website makes no mention of China. In order to find information about the company that someone registered smalape.com on, I performed a WHOIS domain search. That's the only way I learned of the website's purported origins in China.
Also, look, let's not forget that Smalap aka smalape.com claims to exclusively offer tools. Then, on the website's about page, the website claims to exclusively sell furniture. There are too many red flags for me to be able to tell you it's ok to make a purchase on this website. By the way, where did you first see sponsored posts for this website? Facebook? Instagram? TikTok? Somewhere else? Please tell me in the comments below.
