All Cambodians come together to celebrate Sangkran or Chaul Chnam (New Year) from 14-16 April to mark the ending of the harvest season. The hard working Khmer farmers can enjoy a long break before the monsoon begins again, marking the start of a new cycle of rice cultivation.
Khmer New Year is an opportunity to show gratitude, gratefulness, forgiveness and blessing. The farmers pay homage to the spirits that they believe to have given land fecundity and prosperity throughout the year. Cambodians across the country attend the pagoda to make food offerings to connect with their ancestors. It is also an opportunity to do good gestures to those who are in need.
All the team at Hanuman Films would like to extend our thanks and best wishes to all our guests and partners for the wonderful support during the past year.
