I had intended this video to be a fair bit longer, but the annoying combo of my sinuses wanting to fight me and my impatience getting to me led to a much shorter video than usual. Not that it’s a bad thing, as I didn’t have that much to say about this old media center PC.

This is a mishmash of two different systems and a whole bunch of spare parts and/or eBay purchases. The motherboard comes from a similar HP media center desktop, the CPU has been upgraded from an Athlon 64 X2 4200+ with 1MB of L2 cache to an Athlon 64 X2 5200+ with 2MB of L2 cache, there’s a cheap SSD in there and I threw in an extremely overkill AMD Radeon R9 Nano for good measure. I intended to have my Radeon Vega Frontier Edition in here just for this video, but it would not play nicely with any HDMI monitor I have on hand - and any DisplayPort monitors I have are too unwieldy for the videos I shoot. Sorry, Kelvin.

Sooner or later I’ll do an update video where I take a look at this running various flavors of Windows. I’d love to see how much Windows 10 likes a GPU from 2005 with a software suite that doesn’t work on any OS.
